Sunrail – Design Build Data Collection and Stations Design (Phase I, II South and III North
GEC is proud to provide geotechnical engineering and contamination assessment services on the SunRail design team, the first commuter rail transit system in Central Florida. SunRail Phase I is a 31-mile alignment and 12 stations linking Debary to south Orlando. SunRail Phase II is a 30 mile extension to Poinciana with 5 additional stations. SunRail can transport as many people as one lane of I-4 during peak travel times (about 2,000 cars per hour) at a much lower than building one lane of I-4 through Orlando’s urban corridor. GEC performed the geotechnical data collection for the design-build of the track and geotechnical engineering for final station design.
