Florida High Speed Rail, Tampa to Orlando

GEC served as the Geotechnical Engineer for the Florida Overland Express (FOX) project, which was planned to connect Miami, Orlando and Tampa. During the subsequent Tampa to Orlando PD&E Study, GEC performed the preliminary geotechnical investigation and contamination screening evaluation for the proposed high speed rail alignment from Lakeland to Orlando, which was located primarily within the I-4 right of way. GEC also provided geotechnical engineering during the preliminary design phase, including soil borings for bridges, walls and areas with surface organic soil (muck) deposits.
