Stormwater and Development
Chase Plaza
GEC provided contamination assessment and geotechnical engineering services for this 21-story, 1,200,000-sf office, residential and retail complex including three towers on the 2.9-acre site. Chase Plaza was the largest redevelopment project in Orlando’s history. The $140 million project also included a 1,611-space, multi-level parking garage. Complex site conditions in the urban setting included contamination issues (underground tanks and buried debris), support of adjacent buildings, streets and utilities during foundation excavation, on-site stormwater treatment by means of exfiltration trenches, and installation of deep pile foundations adjacent to sensitive historic structures.
